SYNOPSIS

Eternity for the Time Being - two acts – 8w, 8m.

Augustine Goodman, from an old Mississippi Delta Jewish family, and an Ole Miss Professor of Psychology, is catapulted, via social media, the national press, and HRC-Mississippi, into running as the first openly gay gubernatorial candidate of Mississippi, much to his surprise.  As the political season intensifies, unsolicited visits from strangers multiply.  Gus finally receives guidance from Mississippi’s first 1817 governor, David Holmes, and sage advice from a Mississippi literary legend.  His concerned campaign staff, his students, his family, and his loved ones panic when Right-wing forces resist Gus’ growing popularity.
